Minimalist · Effective · Clean
The baby registry list of dreams, from a naturopathic doctor and mom with more than 10 years of experience and 5 babies to have sufficient trial-and-error time to know what works and what doesn’t.
You’ve asked – so I gathered, and organized, and got codes to help make it all a little more affordable.

REMINDER: the most minimalist way of looking at what baby needs is – diapers and wipes, somewhere safe to sleep, some clothes to wear, and food. The baby products industry is huuuuuuge and just often very unnecessary.

And just for fun: things you DON'T need (in my opinion)
In no particular order, things that I don’t recommend or spend money on (spend it on body work or meals later instead):
- Stroller – you may be able to wait on this and see what you do/do not need, like for instance I got a used BOB stroller off marketplace for $100 in 2016 and have used that as my stroller every since and it’s SUPERIOR because of those wheeeeeels!
- Bottle warmer
- Wipes warmer
- Diaper genie (they break, smell, and a trash can works just as fine)
- Baby bath (use a $7 foam pad)
- Swing, bumbo, baby play center, doorway jumper – baby containers
- I do use a Baby Bjorn angled bouncer thing once in a while and think something like that can be used intentionally BUT, the floor on a blanket with some toys is a great place for baby to learn core strength and tummy time
- Smart bassinet like the Snoo etc.
- Changing table, pad, covers (use a waterproof backed blanket thing like above)
- Baby feeding / sleeping tracker apps
- Baby monitors with wifi that are expensive
- Expensive diaper bags (use a backpack)
- Fancy play mats (towel or blanket works)
- Baby food processors (a regular one you use in your kitchen is fine)
Okay there is a lot more I’m sure but these feel common and unnecessary!
